Myanmar Responsible Tourism Awards – MRTA

Initiated by the Myanmar Responsible Tourism Institute (MRTI) in 2017, this will be the third year that we run the Awards. The Awards aim to identify the country’s most forward-thinking and innovative tourism businesses, to showcase their success stories and share best practice across the industry. Last two years, the standard of entries proved the passion and dedication of local tourism businesses to lead the way in developing a responsible and sustainable market. This year, we look forward to celebrating many more examples of responsible tourism at its best.

Responsible tourism is about making better places to live in, and better places for people to visit. It involves:

• – Minimising negative economic, environmental and social impacts
• – Generating greater benefits for local people, and
• – Making positive contributions to the conservation of natural and cultural heritage
